Duchy House is situated in the heart of Central London between the West End, Southbank, and City of London.

Duchy House is within walking distance of major attractions such as: Somerset House, The Courtauld Gallery, The Lyceum Theatre, South Bank London, Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Oxford Street. Excellent travel links make Duchy House easy to reach, with 5 underground stations less than 800 meters from the property and several nearby bus routes.

A 19th-century building with double and single occupancy bedrooms across four floors, with lift access. Guests have a choice of ensuite bedrooms (with private bathroom) and standard single rooms (with an external bathroom shared with one other guest).

Duchy House is located on the junction of the Strand and Waterloo Bridge (the buildings entrance is located between Boots and Café Nero on Waterloo Bridge (postcode WC2R 1HG) and across the road from the vibrant and bustling Covent Garden. Thus, whilst road traffic and the night time economy in this part of London might pose a noise issue, windows in all bedrooms are fitted with secondary glazing. Guests wishing for a quieter stay should therefore request in the ‘Additional information’ section of the booking form a ‘rear facing’ room, whilst those wishing to see out onto the Strand and Lyceum Theatre should request a ‘street side’ room. Please be aware that not all request can be matched. The allocations are subject to availability and room type chosen.

Duchy House is operated by The Courtauld Institute of Art (the world's leading centre for the study of art history, conservation and curating) as a Halls of Residence during the academic year for Courtauld students, though rented privately throughout the summer period (June to September).

This is an excellent value for the location! 10 minuet stroll to the closest tube, hip neighborhood, and loads of delicious restaurants to choose from! I will definitely be coming back to stay!

Check-in and Check-out was easy. The room, hallway, lift are very clean, the share kitchen and washer/dryer are not too bad. Location is really good with underground stations, attractions, buses, hop-on and hop-off buses, restaurant, cafe, supermarket, museums. Shower has hot water whole day. It is a student dome after all, so no tv or ac, but reasonable price in high tourists season around expensive hotels.

Mr Mark G

We enjoyed our stay at Duchy House particularly because it was in a central, convenient location. It was an excellent price for accommodation in London. We appreciated having a kitchen for preparing meals and for the daily cleaning of our room.

Two really good rooms, great central London location, excellent price. It was nice to have the use of a kitchen for hot drinks (and a cooker and microwave if we'd chosen to use them) and a fridge in each room. We'll definitely stay again and will recommend it to friends.
Mrs Jane S

Warm welcome on arrival with a thorough explanation of facilities. Very convenient location. Would use again especially if travelling solo as it felt very safe.

Welcome and room were very good. There was a fan supplied and windows were left open for us as it was very hot outside. Only problem the mirrored cupboard in the bathroom was over the WC and therefore too high for me to reach and look into - there was no other storage space in the bathroom. Location is very central and we had a quiet room at the back of the building.
Mrs Christine S

gentle staff who helps you a lot for any kind of demand. excellent location. we really appreciated. I recommend it. good value for money. we stayed at the rear of the building.

Staff at accommodation very friendly and welcoming. Great location for exploring London. Room and bathroom very clean. Noisy being next to busy road but didn't spoil it too much for us. Useful having the self catering option and free tea/coffee.
Mrs Pam B

Hosts were great. Fantastic central location. I would highly recommend. Many thanks
